Bioinnovo Presents Advances in Innovative Vaccine Platforms at the Argentine Congress of Virology

Bioinnovo participated in the XIV Argentine Congress of Virology 2026, held from May 27 to 29 at the UCA Auditorium in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, consolidating its presence in one of the region’s premier scientific forums for exchange and updates in virology.

Under the theme “Virology for the Future: Science, Technology, and Health,” the event brought together national and international experts to discuss the latest advances in research, technology, and health. The congress also integrated the VII Clinical Virology Symposium, the V Veterinary Virology Symposium, and the VII Latin American Environmental and Food Virology Symposium.

In this context, Bioinnovo achieved a prominent participation through three oral scientific presentations, showcasing the progress of different technological platforms aimed at developing innovative solutions for animal health.

One of the studies addressed the development of Vedevax Doble Viral BLOCK, the first recombinant bivalent subunit targeted vaccine against bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) and bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1).

Additionally, advancements related to vaccine platforms based on virus-like particles (VLPs) were presented. Notable among them was the development of chimeric VLPs designed to generate new vaccine strategies against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), demonstrating promising preclinical results in terms of immunogenicity and protection.

The third presentation focused on the development of a recombinant vaccine based on bovine norovirus VLPs, aimed at preventing one of the primary pathogens involved in neonatal calf diarrhea. This study, presented by Dr. Lautaro Bracco, a biochemist and biotechnology specialist, was selected as one of the six finalists for the Mariano Pérez Filgueira Award, an accolade that honors the most outstanding scientific contributions of the congress.

“Participating in these scientific arenas is essential for sharing progress, generating new collaborative opportunities, and strengthening the bond between research, innovation, and production. These developments reflect our sustained efforts to transform scientific knowledge into concrete solutions for animal health and production systems.”, – Andrés Wigdorovitz, Director of INCUINTA, CICVyA-INTA, and Scientific Director of Bioinnovo S.A.

Bioinnovo’s presence at the Congress reaffirms the company’s commitment to developing innovative technologies based on applied science, driving solutions that address the current and future challenges of animal production.
