Bioinnovo Participates in the Animal Health Panel at BioArgentina 2025
Por admin en Events, Technical talksOn November 27, the 12th edition of BioArgentina was held in Paraná, Entre Ríos. As the country’s premier biotechnology forum, the event was organized by the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology (CAB). The gathering brought together researchers, startups, leading corporations, entrepreneurs, and public sector representatives, consolidating its position as a strategic hub for driving science, innovation, and technological development across all regions of the country.
Within this framework, Dr. Andrés Wigdorovitz, Senior Researcher at CONICET, Head of INCUINTA (CICVyA – INTA), and Scientific Director of Bioinnovo, participated as a speaker on the Animal Health Panel, alongside leading representatives from Biogénesis Bagó and Xeptiva.
During his presentation, Wigdorovitz shared insights from his more than three decades in the scientific and technological system, emphasizing the value of building capabilities to transform publicly funded science into high-impact productive solutions. In his words:
“INCUINTA is the space where we imagine and develop technology. Bioinnovo is the vehicle to turn that technology into products that reach veterinarians, producers, and ultimately, the production system. These are not two separate worlds: they are parts of a single strategy to ensure that Argentine public science generates competitive biotechnology with real-world impact.”
– Dr. Andrés Wigdorovitz
Among the key milestones highlighted, he mentioned the 2018 launch of Vedevax BLOCK—the world’s first targeted vaccine against BVDV, based on the APCH platform—which currently commercializes approximately two million doses annually and is already being exported within the region. He also announced the recent approval of Vedevax DUO and the submission of three new vaccines to SENASA for 2026, which are currently entering their regulatory stages.
During the panel, the role of strategic alliances between the scientific ecosystem, established companies, and startups was analyzed. Wigdorovitz emphasized that the synergy between INTA, Vetanco, and Bioinnovo was crucial for scaling technological capabilities and consolidating an innovative, biotech-based SME.
BioArgentina 2025 reinforced the nationwide reach of the sector, the scientific-productive potential of the provinces, and the importance of building an ecosystem that integrates funding, infrastructure, innovation, and public-private collaboration.
Bioinnovo’s participation reaffirms its commitment to developing biotechnology applied to animal health, generating innovative solutions with regional and global impact.
