Bioinnovo awarded for its innovative product

Bioinnovo received the Innovar Award, given by the Argentinian Ministry of Science, Technology and Product Innovation for its vaccine Vedevax, selected among 1,300 product innovations of different categories. The award was given by the Minister Lino Barañao to IncuINTA’s scientist Andrés Wigdorovitz, who is the head of the Bioinnovo team that created the first recombinant vaccine for cattle.

Jorge Winokur, Vetanco’s President, said that “the products developed by Bioinnovo are based on extensive research, doctoral theses, and scientific publications that endorse them; however, they are unique because they are produced by a public-private partnership.”

Winokur also emphasized that “in addition of the developed products, Bioinnovo’s corporate nature established technical and organizational innovations, and institutional precedents (changes in legislation and regulations), because we generated an innovative law. We are the first company created under the new Biotechnology Act of Argentina, paving the way for others.”

Bioinnovo was also granted the 2015 Motivar Award for Business Innovation for the establishment of a technology-based public-private company, in direct association with IncuINTA (INTA platform for technology projects), given by the Motivar journal on its 13th anniversary.
