Students of the Agricultural – Technical High School (E.E.S.A.) No. 1 of Hurlingham district, Argentina, visited the facilities of Bioinnovo, in the Research Center of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences.
The students were received by Alejandro Vivas, Bioinnovo‘s farm Manager, who guided the visit.
Andrés Wigdorovitz, researcher and Bioinnovo‘s Director, said that “as part of INTA, we believe it is essential to support schools and bring our experience to students to show what we do and the potential of our research.”
The students attended lectures on poultry production, both at field and experimental level, including feeding, management, and animal welfare.
Bioinnovo produces, at industrial scale, animal health products based on egg yolk immunoglobulins (IgY technology) to fight viral and bacterial diseases that affect livestock. This methodology is used for the treatment and control of foodborne diseases, such as Salmonella and Campylobacter, that cause meat export losses, as well as for the control of other etiological agents, including Escherichia coli, circovirus, rotavirus, etc.
At the end of the visit, a picnic gathered students, teachers, and hosts, all of whom expressed their enthusiasm with the visit.
