Bioinnovo celebrates a new achievement

Marina Bok, who will complete her doctoral studies at CONICET next April, applied to two new grants: a postdoc at that institution, and one from the Bunge y Born Foundation. The work under both grants will be developed at IncuINTA, and therefore, she will be able to continue collaborating with Bioinnovo.

The chosen subject was: “Platform for the development of IncuINTA veterinary diagnostic kits: validation and registration of immunoassays based on VHH and IgY technology for the diagnosis of enteric viruses.” Her advisor will be Dr. Andrés Wigdorovitz, who is the Head Director of CONICET.

Bok’s project is based on her experience with the Equine Infectious Anemia kit, with IgY technology during her doctoral studies, and with VHH antibodies to develop diagnostic kits using known technologies for the detection of rotaviruses and coronaviruses.

She will work at IncuINTA with Celina Vega, who is already in charge of a PICT project (scientific and technology research project of the government of Argentina) to validate a diagnostic kit for human rotavirus, and with Viviana Parreño, who will conduct the statistical validation.

Both grants are widely recognized. Bok chose the Bunge and Born Foundation’s grant, which will allow her to continue working at CONICET. Bok’s application was endorsed by Dr Carlos Lanusse (School of Veterinary Medicine, UNCPBA), an authority in this field and awarded for his scientific research.

The family of Bioinnovo proudly congratulates Marina Bok for her efforts and achievements, hoping this will inspire her and her team to continue their training and to apply their knowledge to promote animal health.
