“Vedevax” project, another achievement of Bioinnovo’s team

On November 25, the national IB50K contest, promoted by Balseiro Institute, was held in the Institute’s Lecture Hall, at the Bariloche Atomic Center. Businessmen, technologists and scholars spoke about the creation of technology-based companies. At the end of the round of presentations, the award ceremony was held with representatives of the five shortlisted teams.

The first prize of the IB50K national contest was awarded to the team “RadSafeLabs” in the area of nuclear technology.

The second prize was awarded to the project “Vedevax”, a business plan to create a company to produce the “first recombinant vaccine against bovine viral diarrhea virus.”

“Vedevax” intends to produce an efficient, effective, safe, and competitive vaccine, and possibly expand to Latin America.”
Its members graduated at the National University of Morón, the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), the Business University of Argentina (UADE), and the National University of Quilmes (UNQ). Today, they work in Bioinnovo, the public-private company created by a partnership between Inta and Vetanco.

The IB50K is a technology-based business plan contest organized by the Balseiro Institute (CNEA-UNCuyo). Its goal is to promote entrepreneurship among students and young professionals of Argentinian universities, to stimulate the creation and/or development of companies dedicated to technological innovation, ultimately fostering the technological-industrial development of the country.
